Is Your Life Well Balanced?
I am not sure if we are really living a balanced life. We have different areas of life that we need to take care of in order to live a well-balanced life.
We can’t put all our time and efforts in one area – say career – and ignore the rest like relationships, spirituality, entertainment…
I suffered from this problem, I was focusing a lot on 1 or 2 areas of my life and ignoring the rest. I was thinking that in order to live a “good” life, I need to focus on my studies and get a good job.
My thoughts weren’t so mature at that time.
After getting my Masters degree and starting working in a job, I realized that I made a huge mistake by following what society instructed us to do – go to school and get a job…
Signs of a Balanced Life
You can tell if you are living a balanced life when you feel real happiness. Not the one you get from doing something temporarily like eating a good meal or visiting a new country.
It’s when you are happy despite what is happening in the external world. When you are satisfied with what you do every day.
If you are living your ideal day every day that is a great sign.
For me, an ideal day is when you take care of every single area of your life. For exp. you make your relationships with family & friends better, you eat well and do some sports, you take care of your business/job, and last but not least, you take care of your inner world (mind & spirituality) by praying and meditating.
Oh, before I forget, entertainment is important as well, so define your hobby, something you are really passionate about, something you enjoy doing or watching.
Here are the areas of life that you need to take care of on a daily basis so you can live your ideal – well balanced day – every day.
Area n° 1: Family & Friends
For me, the family is very, very important. I am talking about your small family (parents, brothers, and sisters). If your relationship with them is good, try to make it great and if it’s not going so well, try to resolve any issue that you have.
The family will stand by you when you fail and celebrate with you when you succeed. Make your relationship with them stronger. Speak more often with them and learn about them, what they love and what they don’t. Call your parents regularly and check on them.
For me, my family is the most important element in my life. I never forget the days when I was a kid and got all the love and support from my family no matter what. Some people forget these days and keep moving with life, but we shouldn’t forget.
Good friends are very important in your life as well. I say, good friends because not everyone can be a good fit for you. I am not being mean but this is the reality. If you are a positive person, for sure you don’t want to surround yourself with negative people who complain all the time about almost everything.
Did you know, that you get the average salary of your 5 closest friends? If you are not sure, try it, do the math it’s a proven fact. I am saying this to tell you how much your circle of friends can affect your life, not only on the financial level but on almost every other level.
So start evaluating your friends and see who is empowering you and who is putting you down. They might do the latter without purpose, so you need to be aware and take some actions.
If you need to say goodbye to someone bringing worries, negativity and complains to your life, go ahead and feel free to say it. It might be frightening but sometimes you need to do it.
Start surrounding yourself with the people who already achieved what you want to achieve. I started surrounding myself with positive, energetic and amazing like-minded entrepreneurs who are on the same journey as me, we want to be job free and have more time freedom while doing what we love.

Area n° 2: Health & Fitness
Health is a very precious part of our lives. If you are successful in your career and you have all the money in the world but unfortunately you can’t enjoy your days because some health issues, that would be sad.
In order to avoid having some permanent health issues like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases…
Start taking care of your health – the sooner, the better. Here are some suggestions that I personally use in my daily life, they are helping me a lot.
- Drink water. Start your day by drinking two cups of water to activate your organs. Drink at least 1.5L / day,
- Eat vegetables and fruits,
- Eat less sugar (-chocolates, -cakes, -donuts…), stay aware of the hidden sugar in some foods (-bread, -pizza…),
- Drink less soda and eat less junk food ( -hamburger, -pizza, -kebab…),
- Eat very well on breakfast, eat a little bit less on lunch and eat few on dinner.
- Avoid food that is too salty, too sweet or too fat…
- Diversify your plate (vegetables, meat, rice…)
Now that you started eating better, you need to take care of your fitness. Maybe you want to lose some weight or maybe you are in a good shape but not exercising regularly.
Exercising is important but the most important thing is consistency. Specify 2 to 3 days per week to exercise. I chose, Monday for jogging and Thursday for the gym. I like to swim from time to time. I highly recommend you to swim as well because unlike other sports, it’s a full-body sport.
I usually start my days by doing some yoga exercises. It’s a great way to start the day. Some people like to run in the morning, others might go for a walk with their pets…
Oh, before we move to the next section. If you are in a job that requires sitting all day long on a chair, try to move more, for example, make trips to the coffee machine to fill your cup with water, not coffee 🙂 don’t forget, 1.5L of water per day – every day.
Area n° 3: Business, Careers & Finances
So here it comes – my favorite topic.
When it comes to careers. A while ago, I had the mindset of an “average” employee. I thought that I needed a good degree and a good job so I can work hard until my retirement in order to be happy in life. I was so naive.
6 years later… I realized a job is for losers. Sorry for that but a job is not secured as they told me. I can lose it anytime. A job is making me stressful and unfulfilled, it’s sucking all my time, it’s keeping me away from my family and my friends.
Here’s what my average day was like “Wake-up, go to the job, work all day long, commute back and forth, come back home exhausted, watch some tv and finally sleep…”, I let you imagine how much happy I was!
To change this reality I was stuck in, I started looking for something else. I knew there should be something better for us than the normal job and the traditional corporate world. The old economic system is corrupted, it’s like a modern slavery model.
Why a slavery model? Well, because everything is controlled by the employer/boss: our salary, our vacations, our work, we do what they want and not what we like…
I surely didn’t want to keep going down this path. I started looking out of the box. I don’t want to live from paycheck to paycheck every month and feel stuck in a job I am not passionate about anymore.
I can’t stay in the cubical rooms from 9 to 5 every day when I know that there are people out there living a digital lifestyle, working on their own terms and traveling the world.
I thought if someone can do it, anyone can, right?
So I started modeling the most successful digital entrepreneurs in the world and I started seeing some results in my life. I now know that there is an alternative to the job, there is definitely a way to get wealthy while doing what we love.
I realized that in our time, right now, the digital economy is booming and we need to take advantage of it before it’s too late.

Area n° 4: Spirituality
Spirituality is something we should take care of but most people aren’t.
Whether you believe in god, universe, infinite intelligence or you don’t believe in any of them, you need to take care of your spirit though. At the end of the day, we as human, we have mind, body, and spirit.
So spirit is an important part of our life and if you need to live a well-balanced life, you shouldn’t ignore your spirituality.
Since I joined my current community, I learned to meditate every day. The first meditation was the funniest because I slept but please don’t tell Andy – our meditation teacher.
Meditation is bringing wonders to my daily life. When you meditate, you will be more aware of what’s happening around you, you will pay more attention to your present moment and you will become a conscious human being.
Believe me, it’s something you should try if you haven’t yet.
Area n° 5: Entertainment
I used to be serious all the time and didn’t take care of my hobbies. Now I discovered that entertainment is also an essential part of a balanced life.
Having a hobby and being so passionate about it will increase your happiness.
Think about it, what do you love to do? Do you like to hike the mountains or do sea diving or maybe travel around the world?
Okay, I get that we are busy because of the job or the businesses we are running and we have no spare time to spend on our passions and hobbies.
But what if we can build our work around our passions?
What if we can stop working for the money and stop trading our time for work?
It’s possible and definitely worth it.
